Two of the most promising prospects in the New York Yankees' farm system, right-handed pitcher Dellin Betances and left-hander Manny Banuelos have been placed on the disabled list because each has developed a blister.
Banuelos' issue is on his left thumb while Betances' is on the right index finger. Neither is expected to miss significant time. Betances could be starting for Trenton as soon as Monday and Banuelos is expected to begin throwing again today (Friday).
Meanwhile, Kevin Millwood, who was signed to a minor-league contract at the end of spring training, will take Banuelos' turn in the Trenton rotation this Sunday.
Despite the blister, Banuelos pitched four scoreless innings in his first start for Trenton this season, though he admitted the blister made it tough to pitch, especially when throwing his fastball.
